We are pleased to share that Laterite has made the list of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies 2024, compiled by Statista and published in the Financial Times.
This is the second year that Laterite has featured on the list, which ranks African companies by their compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2019 and 2022. Companies were also required to demonstrate that their growth was primarily organic in nature.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Africa by the Financial Times for the second year running. The last year has certainly been a big one for Laterite, seeing us expand into West Africa and enter a new region with our brand new office in Peru. Our growth has always been entirely organic and we are proud of our continued expansion, despite a difficult economic climate. As always this growth is a reflection of the hard work of our team, combined with our commitment to delivering work of the highest quality and potential for impact,” said Sachin Gathani, one of Laterite’s Managing Partners.
Laterite was founded in Kigali, Rwanda in 2010, and has since expanded across East Africa to Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Its Sierra Leone office opened in 2023, with the Peru office opening most recently. The firm also has an office in the Netherlands which opened in 2019.
Laterite has grown from a team of two to a diverse team of more than 90 full-time staff, and a roster of over 2,500 trained enumerators across the countries where we work. Over the past 13 years we have completed a wide range of research and data collection projects across East Africa and beyond, constantly working to improve our process to deliver the highest quality data and research to our clients.
